Resurrection Sunday, 4-1-18, message

Christ, and Him crucified

Christ crucified has the answer to every ill of mankind.  How is that?

Think about it.  In Christ’s crucifixion, death, burial, and resurrection we find the atoning work of Christ.  (“atoning work” – the reconciliation of Lost man to God, redemption, His divine act of bringing about salvation & the ceasing of God’s wrath toward Lost man).

Can’t His atonement lead folks to live in love and peace with one another?  Those whose sins have been washed in the blood of Jesus Christ and are abandoned to God will live Lives of love, peace, and righteousness (actually Christ doing it through them).  Those Saints will only seek the heart of God in every aspect of life.

If ALL people were like that, every public problem would be on the way to being solved…no more hatred, no more “racism,” no more murder, no more theft, no more divorce, no more …(name it).

What can wash away my sin?  Nothing but the blood of Jesus!

Every Believer in Christ needs to understand and accept & love “Christ, and Him crucified.”  And be “filled with His Spirit.”

Tell someone about God’s “Easter” story

Easter Sunday, 4-1-18 at Christ in the Park

Easter Sunday, 4-1-18

We will celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ with songs and observing the Lord's Supper at Christ In The Park this Sunday morning.  Songs about the Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ...
     "Power In The Blood"
"There Is A Fountain Filled With Blood"
"Are You Washed In The Blood of the Lamb"
"The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power"

Pray that some first-time participant wanders by and joins in, and comes to KNOW Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

Walking In The SON

today at the Park…2-25-18

Wow!  11 at the CitP in the rain and cold!  Barbara’s egg casserole and some pecan bread went fast, along with all the coffee.  Very comfortable though with tarps up and heater going…

Great discussion about:

Walking In The SON
Ephesians 5:8, “For ye were sometimes darkness, but now
are ye Light in the Lord: walk as children of Light.”

As children of God, we are to no longer live like we are children of the devil.

1. The GOOD NEWS first and foremost is that we ARE children of God.
1 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:
old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

But there is more!

2. We are SAINTS!  IN Christ, we have ALL that God tells us we have as His children.  READ Ephesians, chapter 1, for a good start on discovering what it means to be one of God’s children.

3.  Christ lives in us!
Colossians 1:27, “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

4.  We GET to walk by “the faith of Christ.”
We don’t have to work up, drum up, make up “our” faith…we GET to live by Christ’s!
Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God.”

Life lives in us.  He lives His Life through us.
Colossians 3:3-4, “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.  When
Christ, who is our Life, shall appear, then shall ye appear with Him in glory.”

CitP, 2-18-18 – JPS in action
JPS – Jesus Positioning System

The world uses a system called GPSGlobal Positioning System.
It is used to determine where we are, or how do we get someplace on the map.

What do we use to discover these same “places” SPIRITUALLY ?

This is where JPS comes in:
Proverbs 3:5-6 gives us three basics of knowing WHERE WE ARE TO BE,
and HOW TO GET THERE…
·        Trust in the LORD with all thine heart;
·        Lean not unto thine own understanding.
·        In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and
He shall direct thy paths.
Psalm 32:8, “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with Mine eye.”

You will always be where He wants you to be!

That is the specialty of JPS.  JESUS POSITIONING SYSTEM.

Now, listen.  Pay attention to HOW Jesus places YOU exactly where He wants you:
·        Trust in the LORD with all thine heart
We are to completely abandon OUR ALL (mind, emotions, & will) to trust in the
LORD without any hesitation or reservation.  Not in words, but in actions.
·        Lean not unto thine own understanding
We are to forego entirely any idea or effort on our part to use “our mind” to understand any situation.  God is the One with total Omniscience, Omnipotence, and with absolute Omnipresence.  We are to offer nothing.
·        In all thy ways acknowledge Him
We are to always in all ways give complete recognition to God in every thought, every decision, every feeling, and every action.  We are to defer to God in all our ways.

How is your life working out for you now?
Try the JESUS POSITIONING SYSTEM for a better way!

How It All Began...

today at the Park…2-13-18

One of the fellows at the Park this Sunday asked how the idea of this gathering at the park on Sunday mornings came about…I will give you the “short version” of what I told them.

Back in the late 90’s (that’s 20 years ago!) I was at a men’s retreat in Colorado that my friend Michael Wells and Abiding Life Ministries International had put together.  These were always a fabulous time focused on Colossians 1:27, “Christ in me, the hope of glory.”

We had a nice cabin to stay in, and one of my “cabin-mates” was a great guy named Greg Wray.  He is from Modesto, California.  Greg owns an auto mechanics shop.  He and his wife were part of a group of Saints who met in homes, shared the joy of Christ with each other, gave their offerings to missions, and did some “mission” work as God led them.

One evening he told of a guy in their home group whom God gave the idea of taking some coffee and donuts to a local park and sitting at a table to wait and see if there was anyone who came by and visited.  As God would do, over time the opportunities abounded.  As I heard Greg talking about this, I felt in my Spirit that this was the real thing…and that IF God would have it, I would like to try that wherever I was at the right time.

About 20 years later, the right time presented itself.  The right place was there.  The ministry was born of God.  A simple, practical “go out into the highways and hedges” action.  And here we are headed to our 3rd anniversary in just a few months.

I have connected with Greg on a few occasions to share the highlights, and I am thrilled to call him a friend.  But more so, he is a brother-in-Christ that God used to speak a thought about ministry that today is a blessing to Barbara and I, our two daughters and their families, and to many who “wander in” to the pavilion near the bridge of South Street just on the south side of downtown Nacogdoches, Texas, each and every Sunday morning.  Thank God for His Shepherding!

There is a lot more ministry than what takes place at the pavilion…save that thought for another day.

2-11-18, 34 degrees won't stop some from coming!

today at the Park…2-12-18

It was a brisk 34 degrees at Christ in the Park this week (11th).  And three showed up!  We actually had the meeting in my truck…were waiting to see how many came, and enjoyed the truck heater while drinking coffee and munching on some goodies, while looking at “part 2” of “My True Identity In Christ.”

Will probably go over that again next Sunday as some “regulars” were absent because it had been 31* about an hour before “gathering time.”

It really turned into some good discussion on a personal level for one fellow.  That’s what this ministry is all about.

Looking at forecasts for next 6 weeks, the “experts” say the high temps on Sundays will be between 65-70 degrees.  10 to noon is usually near to those highs…looks good!

Looking forward to next Sunday already…
